Mrs. Jimmie Lee Fanroy Mosley was born on February 27, 1933, to the late James Beverly Fanroy and Annie Laura Jordan Fanroy in Memphis, Tennessee. After the untimely death of their mother, the family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1941. She attended the Capitol Avenue Church School and Crispus Attucks High School. Jimmie was united in holy matrimony to James Mosley, Sr. on September 25, 1949, and together they shared sixty years of love, friendship and devotion. To this union was born eight children. She chose not to work outside her home which gave her an opportunity to always be there for her children. Because of their love for children, the Mosley's were foster parents for more than twenty-seven years. They wanted to keep families together, sometimes taking in five siblings, at once eventually adopting two sisters. Jimmie loved the Lord. She accepted Jesus at an early age and was baptized in the Seventhday Adventist Capitol Avenue Church. She worked in the church serving in the capacity of a deaconess, working with the Community Service work and the Religious Liberty Department. She had a quest for learning. In her early years she would be caught reading late at night using a flashlight. This passion she passed on to her children. Her desire for reading was reflected in her vast library. She believed in Christian Education and determined with her husband that all of their children would attend church school. She was at one time Home and School Leader for the Capitol Avenue School. James and Jimmie received an award from Indiana Academy for sending the most children from the same family of their school in 1985. They were honored as Parents of the Year in 1998 by Oakwood University, Huntsville, Alabama. Mrs. Jimmie Lee Mosley departed this life on February 22, 2010, just days before her at the age of seventy-seventh birthday. She was preceded in death by a son, James C Mosley, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, James C. Mosley, Sr; children, Valerie Green, Priscilla Mosley, Anthony Mosley (Sylvia). Jacqueline Mosley, Dr. Jennifer Stone (Linwood), Philip Mosley, Desiree Davis, LaTonya Mosley, Chameka Johnston (Keith), Andre' Russell, Thomas Russell (Eboni), and Pam Russell and daughter-in-law Bertha Mosley; twenty-one grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; step-mother, Willa Mae Fanroy; brothers, Henry Fanroy (Phyllis) and James Fanroy, Jr. (Michelle), sisters, McKellar Neely (Cubith) and Hurbbie Oatts (James), a host of other relatives, friends, and her church family.
