Mr. Prince Albert Holmes, Jr., the son of Mr. Prince Albert, I and Lela Mae Townsend Holmes was born August 30, 1951 in Greenwood, Mississippi.
The family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1958 and Prince attended Cathedral Grad School, Holy Angels, Benjamin Franklin School #36 and Shortridge High School.
Prince II had a contagious smile and found humor in everything to make others around him laugh and smile. He had a caring and giving heart and a walk that made everyone take notice that was around him.
Prince II began working as a meat cutter for Krogers when he was twenty-one years of age and he also worked at Marsh for a period of time also as a meat cutter to later leave and return to Krogers where he worked until his illness.
Mr. Prince Albert Holmes, Jr., departed this life on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the age of fifty-eight years, five months and eleven days.
He is survived by his sons, Prince III, Jermanne and Joseph Holmes; daughter, Deidra Hall; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild; brothers, Richard, Lawrence and Peter Holmes, Jimmie and Melvin Mays; sisters, Barbara Shoulders, Margaret King, and Linnie Mays; his fiancée, Lorena Portericker; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
